My Favorite Tip for Sustaining Fitness Motivation

Okay okay, As a former ballet dancer, now pilates instructor & Studio owner

I get asked all the time about motivation and keywords.

Often times I hear fitness instructors say “work harder” or “ we all have the same 24 hrs in a day”

These statements aren’t true. They don’t meet the mover with kindness and compassion of their own circumstances. Any other individual may be multitasking way more or differently in a day than I do within their schedule all though we each have 24 hrs in the day, each may look totally different from mine.

Why are you moving? For Natasha it’s the ability to have a better quality of life long term.

I think the most important thing I can encourage movers is to find your WHY?

Why are you moving?

I encourage clients to find a long term goal as their why. Short term goals like a diet or trying to fit into a dress in time for a wedding or event will be lost as soon as that goal is met and the motivation is gone.

Think of the things movement and exercise are going to give back  to you long term. More as an investment in You! Improved memory, better balance, independent living later in your senior years.

It’s So important that you find an activity you love! Exercising just to bargain calories with yourself really doesn’t create a healthy relationship with exercise. If you love it, you start to naturally love moving!

All the little short term goals will be met without even thinking about it if you plan long term.

I think of all the things that motivate me each day,

and it is for me the ability to have a better quality of life long term in my senior years, and live independently & healthy for as long as I can.

An immediate benefit I feel each day I move is, improved mood! Those feel good endorphins make me crave moving everyday and whether it’s Pilates or dancing, movement is my moving meditation.

Set your intentions & know your Why and you’ll be motivated each day of your amazing life! Let’s move, connect and create a more kind, compassionate community, connection supporting each other to move in the best way we can in the limited hours our already busy scheduled days are.
