I LOVE this time of year because I EAT everything flavorful and love every minute of it!
One of my favorite apps for the holiday season are my mother’s famous Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Liver appetizers!
It’s one of those appetizers that I traditionally only eat this time of year, and this year I delved right in and thought I would treat my holiday guests to this flavorful app and even easier to make. This was my first season making this and I loved it! I loved it because it’s so tasty but something that brings me joy preparing food my family and friends are Gaga over! I’m a novice cook but LOVE good food. This recipe is so simple and a great addition to any party or event.
Find chicken livers in your area grocer
I cut the them into half’s after I’ve rinsed
In a large zip lock bag I add 1 cup of bread crumbs and 1 cup of brown sugar
Add the chicken livers to the bag and shake
The bacon strips I cut in half and wrap around each chicken liver and hold in place with a tooth pic
Place in the oven at 325 degrees and cook for about 20 mins before you turn over, I cook again for another 20 mins and then decided if I need to flip and cook again for 10 mins, go by how you see the bacon cooking and the oh so yummy smell!
One of my mom’s tips that makes her so successful with putting on huge dinners is her preparation. To prepare for a large group meal and not get overwhelmed this app can easily be made days ahead of time and then reheated, you can choose to do the reheat in the oven or microwave.
