Post Holiday Detox

Let’s face it – diets are so not a thing around the holidays, and that is completely okay. Holiday calories shouldn’t count, because it means that you have a warm home to enjoy great food and great company.

So I hope you ate, indulged, and enjoyed every morsel without regret – we won’t tell that you had the last piece of pie

Every year on the day following Christmas, I spend the day at the supermarket and in my kitchen with dozens of mason jars making detox water to help me get back on track after feasting.

All of the recipes are extremely simple and very satisfying. They’re made to help curb your appetite, boost your metabolism, improve digestion, and help clear your skin of grease and toxins.

The greatest part of these recipes is that there’s plenty of room for you to experiment because so many of these ingredients marry beautifully!

Three of my favorite detox waters are:

1. Mint Green Tea Detox.

• Brew your favorite green tea, add a few mint leaves, and throw in three slices of lime.

**NOTE: you don’t need to squeeze the lime, the flavor will come out organically as it sits and soaks overnight.**

2.  Berry-Slimming Detox

• Cut up a few fresh strawberries, slice up half a cucumber, and add in a few sprigs of mint.

• Mint is also a proven stress-reducer, so it’s sure to relax you before bed!

3. Apple-Cinnamon Water

Because who doesn’t love being festive?

•  Take two fresh, organic apples and one cinnamon stick.  Cut the apples into large chunks (leaving the skin on), add the cinnamon stick, and fill with water.

• The cinnamon will help to regulate your blood sugar, and the apple will help process the toxins out of your body!

After you’ve tried making these three recipes, try making one of your own! Mix flavor combinations into your find one that’s perfect for you.
